Maxime Simonnet is a partner in Dentons’ Paris office and a member of the firm’s Real Estate group. He advises an international client base of investors, including investment funds, real estate companies and operators, on a wide range of real estate matters encompassing both transactional and contentious work.

His transactional practice includes advising on real estate acquisitions and disposals, with a particular focus on due diligence processes and the negotiation of asset and share sale agreements involving real estate companies. He also works closely with clients, notably large tenants, on complex negotiations relating to commercial leases and construction contracts. In this context, he assists clients in developing legal strategies designed to anticipate risk and optimize the costs and revenues associated with their real estate assets.

Alongside his transactional work, Mr. Simonnet has a well-established real estate litigation practice. He regularly represents clients in disputes involving commercial leases, construction law, real estate sales, co-ownership matters and environmental issues.

Mr. Simonnet has been a partner at Dentons since 2014, having previously served as counsel and associate with the firm. Earlier in his career, he practiced at Rambaud Martel (now Orrick). He is a member of the French Institute of Real Estate Expertise and the Urban Land Institute.

He holds postgraduate and undergraduate law degrees from Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas, including international academic experience. He works in French, English and Spanish.

Dentons offers a globally integrated real estate practice designed to support clients operating in an increasingly complex and competitive market. The practice supports clients across all stages of real estate projects and investments, including acquisitions, development, construction, leasing, project finance, and the formation of partnerships and joint ventures.

The firm also advises on real estate disputes, providing strategic support in contentious matters where commercial and legal risks intersect. Dentons’ integrated approach allows real estate teams to collaborate closely with lawyers in related disciplines, offering coordinated advice when projects raise issues beyond core real estate law.

Where client needs extend into adjacent areas, the firm draws on wider capabilities in insolvency and restructuring, environmental and regulatory compliance, corporate structuring, taxation and other business-related matters. This breadth enables Dentons to deliver practical, business-oriented legal solutions aligned with clients’ operational and strategic objectives across jurisdictions.
